LANEY COLLEGE: LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER

Completed while working at Mark Cavagnero Associates, and in collaboration with Noll & Tam, this project envisions a new Learning Resource Center at the south side of the Laney College campus.

Springing from the all-brick context of the campus, terra cotta rainscreen panels are used on the angled walls of the south facade.  Narrow terra cotta “baguettes” are deployed for further screening along the south, west and east facades.  

The project will provide classroom spaces, a library, administrative offices, as well as drop-in tutoring.  The building will be a fresh addition to the 1970’s campus, creating a new gateway to campus.
